Keen Adventures’ is among a few Expedition operators that are regularly organizing ‘Mount Everest Climbing and Expedition’. Ascending Mount Everest will be the wonderful experience of conquering the tallest mountain in the world.
Mount Everest Climbing and Expedition 2019 will last for 65 days that will begin with the flight to Lukla. From Lukla, we will trek through Phakding and Namche Bazaar to Thyangboche where we can view the largest Monastery of Khumbu region. We will then cross through Khumbu Glaciers and walk past Dingboche and Lobuche to Everest Base Camp.
Climbing Everest requires technical skills and so it is not the package for beginners. The climb will be broken into 5 Camps. Everest Base Camp will be located to the north of Khumbu Glacier at the height of 18000 ft. We will make our way through the slippery trail to Camp 1 that is located at 20000 ft. The climbing progresses to Camp 3 at 22300 ft and Camp 4 at 26000 ft which are the last camp of the expedition that exists just 500 m distance far from the summit. We will make our way through the south-east ridge. This is the same route that was used by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norge Sherpa when they made a first successful attempt in the year 1953.

01 Apr: Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

02-03 Apr: Day 02-03: Preparation, Briefings, shopping and formalities for a permit.

04 Apr: Day 04: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2652m-4 Hrs.); lodge.

04 Apr: Day 05: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m-6 Hrs.); Lodge.

06 Apr: Day 06: Rest & acclimatization, explore Everest View Hotel (3800m-3 Hrs.).

07 Apr: Day 07: Trek to Tyangboche (3850m-5 Hrs.); Explore Buddhist monastery; lodge.

08 Apr: Day 08: Trek to Dingboche (4350m-5Hrs.); lodge.

09 Apr: Day 09: Trek to Lobuche (5018m-4Hrs.); lodge.

10 Apr: Day 10: Rest for acclimatization at Lobuche.

11 Apr: Day 11: Trek to Gorakshep (5170m-3 Hrs.); lodge.

12 Apr: Day 12: Trek to Everest Base camp (5200m-2 Hrs.). Camping.

Itinerary Detail

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m):
Once you arrive at the premises of International Airport at Kathmandu, you will be received by staff member from ‘About Nepal Trek’ and then transferred to the hotel through the bustling streets of Kathmandu. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will be briefly explained about your itinerary package which will be followed by the welcome dinner.

Day 02& 03: Sightseeing and Expedition preparation:
A government registered guide will take you on a ride through several World Heritage Sites inside Kathmandu which include Pashupatinath Temple Complex, Bouddhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Stupa. The tour on second day concludes with visit to medieval Kathmandu Durbar Square premises which holds sites like Basantapur Museum and home of Living Goddess- Kumari.

Day 04: Fly to Lukla Trek to Phakding (2640m):
30 minutes of pleasant flight high above the clouds will take us to Tenzing- Hilary Airport at Lukla which includes among the most dangerous airport in the world. After we land at the airport, we will take 3hours of walk to reach to Phakding Village where we will stay overnight.

Day 05: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3446m):
The trail on 5th day progresses along the Dudh Kosi River which further moves through Himalayan Pine woods to reach to Namche Bazaar which is the Gateway of Everest Khumbu Region. Namche Bazaar is the Trade Center in between Tibet and Nepal. We will stay overnight in a lodge at Namche.

Day 06: Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar:
Since the altitude is going to take sharp increase after Namche, we will allocate enough time to acclimatize ourselves to the changing altitude. We will take a short trip and visit nearby Khumjung village. This village offers great views of Everest and Lhotse Mountains.

Day 07: Trek to Thyangboche:
Leaving Namche Bazaar behind, we will follow the downward trail through Kayangjuma to Sansa at which point we will cross the bridge above Dudhkoshi River which will take us to Phuki Thena. After taking brief rest at Phuki Thena, we will move towards beautiful village of Thyangboche. This village is popular for Thyangboche Monastery which is the largest Monastery in entire Khumbu Region.

Day 08: Trek to Dingboche:
We will enjoy the scenic views of Tobuche peak, Ama Dablam, Nuptse and other peaks before leaving to Dingboche. The trail passes through few pretty villages that are lined with chortens and Mani Walls and take us to Pangboche Village. We will head north from Pangboche and pass through Pheriche. Entering the Imja Valley, we will descend to Lobuche River and choose the escalating trail to Dingboche.

Day 09- 13: Acclimatization at Dingboche:
We will take rest from the long and tiring Expedition. We can have view of snow- clad Pumori Mountain from Dingboche. Acclimatization is essential to prevent from the tormenting High Altitude Sickness.

Day 14: Trek to Lobuche:
Crossing the wooden bridge, we will head through Dugla. The trail stretches further through Khumbu Glacier and rises to Chupki Lhara. We will walk along the small river that is created out of melting snow and advance towards Lobuche where we will stay overnight.

Day 15: Trek to Everest Base Camp:
Early in the morning, we will enjoy the views of Nuptse, Pumori and Khumbutse Mountains. We will walk along Khumbu Glacier and choose the escalating trail that passes through Thangma Riju and Changri Glacier. We will enjoy the first look of Kala Patthar from Gorak Shep Lake and walk past Indian Army Mountaineers’ Memorials to Everest Base Camp. We can have wonderful views of Nuptse, Khumbutse and Pumori Mountains from Everest Base Camp.

Day 16-18: Rest and Preparation:
These days are devoted to prepare ourselves for climbing the challenging Mountain. Clearly, it is not going to be easy to ascend the highest Mountain of the world. So, enough rest and preparation needs to be made for conquering Everest. We can take the short trek to Kalapatthar and enjoy the most beautiful sunset view over Mount Everest.

Day 19-64: Climb Mount Everest:
These days are dedicated in ascending Mount Everest. For the first few days, we will practice to climb the mountain. We will climb up to high camp and return back in the evening. After gaining confidence, we will set our target to reach the summit. The trail will be made with crampons and pick axe. We will fix the cables wherever necessary. Once we conquer the summit, we will enjoy incredible views of mountain peaks and valleys from the summit.

Day 65: Withdraw to Base Camp:
In 65th day, we will return back to base camp and celebrate our successful climb. We will clean the base camp and stay overnight.

Day 66- 68: Return to Namche Bazaar via Dingboche:
66th day marks the beginning of the return trip. We will follow the rock strewn path and cross through Lobuche to Dingboche and then continue our journey to Namche Bazaar where we will stay overnight in the lodge.

Day 69: Trek to Lukla:
After hurried breakfast, we will follow the trail through Phakding to Lukla. Since we will return back to Kathmandu only in the next day, we will pack our luggage and prepare for leaving Lukla. We will stay overnight at a lodge in Lukla.

Day 70: Fly to Kathmandu:
We will take 30minutes of scenic flight high above mountains to fly back to Kathmandu. After we land in the Domestic Airport at Kathmandu, we will return back to hotel. We will spend the day taking nap on the luxurious bed of the hotel and take relief from the perilous journey.

Day 71: Departure:
It marks the end of thrilling ‘Mount Everest Expedition’. Our staff will assist in your last moment preparation and then convey you back to Tribhuvan International Airport from where you will take flight to your desired next destination. We are happy to serve you.
