Day 01: Flight to Paro Drive to Thimpu: You will board a flight to the last Shangrila land of Bhutan. The scenic flight progresses high above mountains by brushing the clouds. Later, the craft takes a sharp bend to land at the only Airstrip of Bhutan that is located in Paro. Disembarking at the airfield of Paro, you will be greeted by Bhutanese guide who will take you to Thimphu. You will stay overnight at a hotel in Thimpu.
Day 02: Tour of Thimpu: You will rise early in the morning along with wake-up call from the hotel staff and then have hurried breakfast before exploring inside Thimpu- the capital city of Bhutan. Vegetable market, the Memorial Chorten and National Library are some of the sites that you will be visiting today. Later during the day, you will take a short stroll to a factory of handmade paper and Thangka painting school.
Day 03: Move to Punakha and Wangdi Phodrong: Tour on this day will take you to the historical city of Wangdi Phodrong. Leaving your hotel early in the morning, you will take a drive through busy street all the way to Punakha which is the former capital of Bhutan. You will take lunch nearby gushing Wangdi River and then continue your trail towards Wangdi Phodrong Dzong where you will stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Travel to Phubjika (Gangtey): You will take the short stroll around Wangdi City in morning to have close observation of the lifestyle of locals. Returning back to a hotel, you will nibble breakfast and begin your journey towards a tranquil land of Gangtey Valley. Gangtey Valley is paradise for bird watchers. It provides a home for rare black-necked cranes which fly over Tibet in the winter. You will also visit Gangtey Monastery before staying overnight at the hotel.
Day 05: Move to Paro via Thimpu Gangtey: Leaving Gangtey early in the morning, you will take the easy trail that passes through woods at few places to take you to Simtokha Dzong. This Dzong has the high significance in the history of Bhutan as it is the oldest dzong in Bhutan. You will also explore to the hospital of traditional medicine and the National Library before continuing your journey towards Paro where you will stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 06: Tour of Paro: the 6th day is dedicated to exploring Paro. Ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, Kyichu Lakhang and National Museum are some prominent sites that you will visit this day. Along with having high historical significance, Drukgyel Dzong also offers the scenic view of Chomolhari Mountain. The history of Kyichu Lakhang dates back to the 7th century that was built to celebrate the arrival of Buddhism in Bhutan. You will stay overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 07: Travel to Takstang: Takstang is a monastery which is located on a cliff that overlooks the valley. It consumes lots of time to fully acknowledge the architectural beauty of this monastery. Intricate paintings at walls that depict story from Tibetan scripture are the major attraction of Takstang Monastery. Following the tapered trial, you will then lower down and continue your journey back to Paro where you will stay in a hotel.
Day 08: Final Departure: It is the final day of ‘Bhutan Tour Cultural Odyssey’. After gulping down hurried breakfast, you will be driven back to the only Airport of Bhutan which is located at Paro. You will either fly back to Kathmandu by the plane of Druk Airlines or head towards your next destination.
