Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
You will find our representatives there at the Tribhuvan International Airport, ready to greet you when you land in at the International Airport of Kathmandu. They will receive you with your name and take you to the hotel where you will be briefly explained about the itinerary package.
Day 02: Sightseeing/Exploration in Kathmandu
On the second day, you will be taken out for an excursion to some of the chief sites in and around Kathmandu. Visits include temples of Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Bauddhanath and Durbar squares of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur.
Day 03: Drive to Dhunche
Early in the morning, we will head to Dhunche from Kathmandu which takes about 7 hours driving to cover the 119km journey. The road offers scenic views of mountains and waterfalls. We will stay overnight in a hotel at Dhunche—the headquarters of Rasuwa district.
Day 04: Trek to Chandanbari
Today we will climb all the way up the jungle covered with rhododendrons and other high alpine flowers till we reach Chandanbari which is a small town with few shelters and the monastery. We will visit the cheese factory in Chandanbari which is the oldest in Nepal.
Day 05: Trek to Gosainkunda via Lauribinayak pass
After passing through the easy walk to Lauribinayak, we will pursue the much narrow and misty track. We will notice the change in terrain from green pasture field too much deserted and rocky area. From Lauri Binayak, it takes about 3 hours of walking to reach Gosainkunda. Gosainkunda is a holy and sacred lake in Nepal popular among the Hindu pilgrims and is one of the major pilgrimage destinations.
Day 06: Celebrating festival at Gosainkunda
Every year in Janai Purnima, during the full moon of August, a ceremony is held in Gosainkunda during which devotees visit the Gosainkunda Lake to bath and worship Lord Shiva. Bathing in Gosainkunda Lake is challenging as the surrounding is much chilling but the bath itself is rewarding as it is believed to cleanse off sins. This day holds the most significance during the Gosainkunda festival trek.
Day 07: Trek back to Chandanbari
This day we will follow back the downward trail to Lauribinayak. From Lauribionayak, we will pass through forests of rhododendron and other high alpine flowers before arriving at Chandanbari where we will stay overnight.
Day 08: Trek back to Dhunche
After breakfast, we will pass through pine forest to reach Dimsa. From Dimsa, we will pass through forest and settlements to finally arrive at Dhunche. The whole trek from Chandanbari to Dhunche completes in about four and half hours.
Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu
It takes about seven hours of drive through bends and curves to return to Kathmandu. The way offers scenic views of majestic mountain peaks including Ganesh Himal, Langtang range and some of the Tibetan mountains.
Day 10: Final departure from Kathmandu
It’s the day to say goodbye. Our representatives from Keen Adventures Treks will assist in your last moment preparation and will drive you back to Airport from where you will return to your beloved ones. We hope to see you again. Farewell!!!
