Langtang Ganja la pass trekking Itinerary details:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu: Our representatives will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and take you to the hotel where you will be briefly explained about the trekking package itinerary. You will spend the comforting night at the hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu: This day, you will be taken to the day-long tour around Kathmandu Valley. Visits include shrines at Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath (also known as Monkey Temple) and Bouddhanath and Durbar Squares of Basantapur and other two nearby amazing cities of Patan and Bhaktapur. Most of the sites you will be visiting on the second day are enlisted in the UNESCO world heritage list. You will return to the hotel back in the evening.
Day 03: Drive to Syabru Besi: Syabru Besi is the initial point for trekking in Ganja La pass. It takes about 8 to 9 hours drive to cover 117km from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi. En route, we can enjoy the scenic views of the mountain and rice terrains. Syabru Besi bazaar is cramped with lodges and hotels. We will reside for a night in any one of them.
Day 04: Trekking to Lama Hotel: We will depart from the main road and lower down to a camping area via the route opposite to the Hotel Village View. The trail further prolongs through the suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi and ascends to Thulo Syabru before crossing a bridge over Langtang Khola. Later the trail leads to set of six lodges at Changtang which goes by the name of Lama Hotel where we will stay overnight.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang: A short ascend up the hill will take us to the trail that opens up in Langtang valley. The valley offers the beautiful scenery of Lirung. Later we will pass through a forest to reach the meadow where yak and the wild goats can be seen grazing. We will stay in Langtang overnight
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa: Leaving the Langtang Valley, we will clamber uphill all the way to Sindum and Yamphu. Later the route takes us through Laja Khola to arrive at a viewpoint which provides the panoramic views of Kyanjin Gompa and icefall from Lirung and Kinshung. Below to the view point exists Kyanjin Gompa where we will stay overnight.
Day 07: Rest day in Kyanjin Gompa: On the 7th day, we will take a well-deserved rest from trekking and ease up our stiff muscles. Kyanjin Gompa offers splendid views of Langtang Lirung, Genjempol and Kenga Himal ranges. The cheese factory, Buddhist monastery and Tsergo Ri (5033m) are other sites which you would like visiting.
Day 08: Trek to Ngegang Kharka: Crossing the Langtang Khola, we will clamber through a steep hill and cross across rhododendron and juniper forest to arrive at a pasture with lush green vegetation where we can see yak grazing. This meadow goes by the name of Ngegang Kharka where we will stay overnight.
Day 09: Trek to Ganja La Pass and to Keldang: Crossing the rivulets, we will move forward via snow and rocks to make it to Ganja La pass which provides the majestic views of Langtang Himal and Lirung. Later we will lower down to Yangri Khola Valley and cross stream and pass through meadows to hit Kaldang where we will stay overnight.
Day 10: Trek to Dukpu: Descending further through a long ridge, we will undergo series of ups and downs to move forward to a valley. Later we will follow the ridge through small villages to arrive at Dukpu where we will stay overnight.
Day 11: Trek to Tarke Gyang: Today’s trail begins by moving uphill to make it up to the Pass which gives spectacular mountain views. Later we will pass through a forest of spruce and rhododendrons to reach Tarke Gyang- the large Sherpa Village.
Day 12: Trek to Sermathang: Early in the morning, we will move across the beautiful Sherpa Village- Gangyul which locates itself at 2520m altitude. The route then lowers down a bit before ascending up through a forest. Later we will cross the stream to arrive at Chumik from where we will climb further up to the village of Sermathang.
Day 13: Drive back to Melamchi Bazaar and to Kathmandu: The trail follows downward the hill and transverse the village of Nigale, Gyalsha and Raithani Gyang before moving across pine forest to make it to the village of Dubha Chaur. A little further from Dubha Chaur exists Melamchi Pul Bazaar from where we will drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 14: Kathmandu free day: Today is the free day. You can ease your muscles after a long and arduous trek. Later in the afternoon, you can go shopping around Thamel to take souvenirs to your near and dear ones. You will be served your evening dinner amid the cultural dance shown in your honor.
Day 15: Final departure from Kathmandu: We will assist in your last moment preparation and take you to the Tribhuvan International Airport which will take you to your next destination or back to your home country. We wish you a safe journey and expect to serve you again!
