Itinerary Detail

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Upon your arrival, our representatives will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and take you to the hotel where you will get brief explanation about the trekking package. You will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Exploration Day in Kathmandu On the second day, you will visit some of the major sites around Kathmandu Valley which involves temples of Pashupatinath, Swayamvunath/Monkey temple and Bauddhanath and Durbar squares of Kathmandu and Patan. Later in the evening, you will return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 03: Drive to Syabru Besi This day you will drive through the bending way which offers the beautiful views of the mountain and rice terrains. We will reach to Syabrubesi in about 8-9 hours after accomplishing the 117km long distance from Kathmandu. The thrilling experience of Langtang Gosainkunda Trek commences from Syabrubesi. Syabru Besi is a small town in Langtang region that is jam- packed with shops and lodges.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel From Syabrubesi, the route leaves the main road and lowers down to a camping area below the town from the track opposite to the Hotel Village View. Later it traverses through the suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi River from where we will ascend to Thulo Syabru. Later, we will cross the bridge over Langtang Khola and climb further up to set of six lodges at Changtang which goes by the name of Lama Hotel.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang Valley Today we will take a brief climb to arrive at Langtang valley which offers the panoramic view of the beautiful Lirung peak. The trail proceeds through a forest to arrive at the meadow where yak and the wild goats can be seen grazing. We will pitch our camp at Langtang overnight.

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa From Langtang Valley, we will climb up the hill and pass through Sindum and Yamphu. We will cross Laja Khola to reach to a viewpoint from where Kyanjin Gompa and icefall from Lirung and Kinshung can be viewed. Later we will descend to Kyanjin Gompa where we will be staying overnight.

Day 07: Rest day/Hiking Day/Acclimatization day in Kyanjin Gompa This day is taken as the rest day. We will have a brief stroll to have a look around the Glacier Lake. Later we can have a short trek to Kyanjin Gompa which offers a close- up view of Langtang Lirung, Genjempol and Kenga Himal ranges. The cheese factory, Buddhist monastery and Tsergo Ri are other sites worth visiting.

Day 08: Trek down to Lama Hotel On the 8th day, we will follow the trail all the way to Langtang Khola and cross the suspension bridge to enter Langtang Village. Later we will visit Ghora Tabela before lowering down to Lama Hotel where we will stay overnight.

Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru We will pass through small settlements of Sherpa and Tamang ethnics before descending to Syabru Besi. From Syabru Besi, we will follow the track to Thulo Syabru where we will stay overnight.

Day 10: Trek to Chandanbari A 5-hour long walk through Dursagang and Foprang Danda will take us to Chandanbari. En route, we will enjoy the beautiful views of majestic Langtang Himalayan Range, Ganesh Himalaya Range, Annapurna Himalaya Range and other Tibetan Mountains. We will visit cheese factory while in Chandanbari.

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda Lake Today’s trek follows the tapering and misty trail where the topography changes from lush green meadow to deserted rocky terrain. The whole journey from Lauribinayak to Goshainkunda takes about 3 hours to conclude.

Day 12: Trek to Ghopte Early in the morning, we will lower down the steep hill for about two and half hours to arrive at a pass which exists at 4500 m altitude. We will take a brief rest before continuing on the rocky terrain down to Ghopte where we will stay overnight.

Day 13: Trek to Melamchigaon Today’s trail descends through the thickets of spruce and rhododendron flower. The forest is popular for bird viewing as well. Later we will make it to Melamchi. Underneath the Melamchi Gaon is located Melamchi River. We will stay in Melamchi overnight.

Day 14: Trek to Tarkegyang We will lower down steeply through the valley to arrive at Melamchi Khola. We can have a dip in the crystal clear water of Melamchi Khola before climbing up to Tarkegyang which exists on the other side of the valley. 18th century Gompa with huge prayer wheel of brass is the site worthy of visiting in Tarkegyang.

Day 15: Trek to Sermathang

Early in the morning, we will travel through the flat land to arrive in Sermathang which is a Sherpa village from where we can have the spectacular views of mountains like Ganesh, Langtang, Rolwaling, Gosainkunda and Everest on a sunny day.

Day 16: Trek to Melamchi Bazar and Drive to Kathmandu

This day marks the end of our trekking. We will trek all the way to Melamchi Bazar before driving back to Kathmandu. Kathmandu is located around 59.2 km far from Melamchi and it takes about 2 hrs of driving to make it back to Kathmandu.

Day 17: Departure from Kathmandu, Farewell!

The 17th-day long trekking package ends this day. We will assist in your last minute preparations and our representatives will take you back to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from where you can head to your home or other destination. We hope to see you again !!
